Aries, Scorpio and marital matters

The 7th house is known as the KALATRASTHANA or the house of marriage and Venus is known as the KALATRAKARAKA or natural significator of marriage. It is not enough just looking at the placement of these two factors in trying to find out anything pertaining to marriage. The Moon is known as the MANASKARAKA or natural significator of the mind while Mercury is known as the BUDDHIKARAKA or natural significator of the intellect.

The mind and intellect of a person also go a long way in deciding the amount of happiness in married life. However it will not be possible to discuss the contribution of these two planets in respect of marital matters in such a short article.

Mars and Venus play strong roles in deciding marital fates for those born in these two lagnas.

For those born in Aries ascendant, Venus gives good results if he occupies the signs of Taurus, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. In Aries or in Scorpio, he causes marital stress. In the signs of Cancer, Leo Sagittarius and Capricorn, he causes delay in marriage. For those born in Aries, Venus being in Scorpio can also cause similar results.

If for Aries, Venus occupies the friendly sign of Taurus and recieves the aspect of Mars from Scorpio, it leads to sexual abnormalities and very strong biological urges resulting in the native going astray. Similar is the result if for Aries lagna Venus occupies Scorpio and Mars occupies Taurus.

Venus in the 5th house in Leo for Aries can be a “no marriage” combination while Venus in the 6th house in Virgo in debilitation (experience shows that any cancellation of debilitation or neechabhanga is not effective in such cases) can give a diseased partner.

Venus in the sign of Sagittarius for Aries lagna gives a balanced partner and one who is quite religious in disposition. In the sign of Capricorn, it can be just a “very normal” marriage with the partner also being employed while in Aquarius, Venus would give a partner from an affluent family with gains to the native as well. In the sign of Pisces, Venus for Aries lagna can give a partner from a distant land. If Mars also joins Venus in Pisces, then both the couple would be permissive in nature.

For those born in Scorpio lagna, Venus in the sign of Aries gives an extremely volatile and imbalanced partner. If joined by Mars, apart from daily fights, marriage could also get legally involved unhappily.

Venus in the sign of Taurus gives a very meaningful partner but put Mars also there and the native himself could break the marriage. Venus in Gemini, for Aries ascendant gives a partner from close quarters such as related to the native’s parents. The partner will be academically very well qualified and will always be travelling. Health of the partner will not be good.

Coming to Venus in the sign of Cancer gives an overseas partner and one not very presentable. If Mars also occupies the sign of Cancer, the partner will be anemic and short tempered. Venus in Leo for Scorpio lagna is generally not at all favourable and it would take extreme effort in getting the native married. In the sign of Virgo, marriage will be just normal and not very interesting.

Venus occupying the 12th house in Libra is good gives a reasonably comfortable married life with the partner hailing from a distant place. Add Mars there and still it is good, unless associated with any other malefic. Add Rahu to this and the character of the native himself would be not morally acceptable.

Venus in Scorpio lagna without malefic influences gives a very devoted and presentable partner who will fight for the rights of her husband – the first few years of married life will be bad while later on the bonding becomes excellent.

Venus in Sagittarius for Scorpio lagna gives a short lived partner while in Capricorn gives a “travelling” partner – add Mars to this and both the couple will always be on the move.

In Aquarius Venus in the 4th from the lagna gives a weak willed partner without much qualification (physically and academically) but marriage will last. The partner will lead a menial life.

In Pisces, in the 5th house in exaltation, it is generally a “no marriage” indication but if Mars is also added to this, then marriage results after a long term emotional involvement – a child before marriage is also likely.

Of course, the running Dasha bhukthis, the influences of other planets on these two, the transits of planets and many other factors also need to be taken into consideration before applying these rules ad-verbatim.

Other factors to be considered are proper matching of horoscopes and the "MUHURTHAM" of marriage. Since these two factors can also MAKE or MAR a marriage, due importance must be given to proper matching of horoscopes as also getting married in an "auspicious" muhurtham.

Only by vast experience can horoscopes be analysed as just by mathematical approximations, the results are not encouraging. Further, where negatives are indicated, by appropriate planetary propitiation and precautions, married life can be made more meaningful and long lasting. Marriage is not just a legal bonding, it is not just to satisfy the baser instincts of a person, but more of an emotional bonding with infinite value. Our ancients attached sanctity to marriage but today many marriages are just “mechanical” and so these days we see more of “breaks” which is unfortunate.

If marriages are made more successful it could result in the world also improving as offspring from such marriage can be more useful to society.

No doubt, marriages are made in heaven, but unfortunately broken by man. If “marriages made in heaven” have to last, then we humans have to take more precaution in selecting our life partners which is possible only by a thorough study of both the horoscopes.

For those unmarried, I pray: SHEEGRAMEVA KALYAANA PRAAPTHIRASTHU and for those already married I pray: SARVE JANAAH SUKHINO BHAVANTHU.
